Keywords:
reparation, victims, human rights violations, European Convention of Human RightsAbstract
According to the International Law of State Responsibility, and, specifically, with the ILC Articles on Responsibility of States for Internationally Wrongful Acts, any international wrong generates an obligation of repair, and this one must eradicate, as far as possible, the consequences of the illegal act, restoring the status quo ante. These interrelated principles are the foundations of the international law, as well as of the mechanisms of reparation to the victims adopted by the European Convention for the Protection of Human rights and Fundamental Freedoms. The aim of this article consists of analyzing both institutions (the European Court of Human Rights and the Committee of Ministers) on wich, after the signature of the additional protocol 11, rest the mechanisms of reparation in the European Convention, in order to show his achievements and deficiencies.
