Good Governance Recommendations for the Advisory Boards of the Journals*

(approved by the AEPDIRI General Assembly, Seville, 2015)

  1. The Advisory Boards of the AEPDIRI Journals shall be appointed by the Editorial Board of each of the Journals (or elected, where provided for) for a period of 6 years. This appointment shall be subject to ratification by the General Assembly of AEPDIRI.
  2. The appointment of the Advisory Boards shall be based on the prestige and professional career of each of the candidates, who must necessarily enjoy unquestionable recognition in the national and/or international scientific community. At the same time, proportional and sufficient representation of the three disciplines that make up the Association must be ensured. Finally, when making the selection, both geographical origin and a gender perspective must also be considered as relevant elements.
  3. The Advisory Boards of the AEPDIRI Journals shall be totally/partially renewed every 6 years, on the date set by each of the Editorial Boards.
  4. The members of the different Advisory Boards of the Association's Journals may only be members of one of them, and may be re-elected to the Advisory Board to which they belonged or to the Advisory Board of another of AEPDIRI's Journals.
